AmigaOS 4.1 Update 5 CD for the AmigaONE X1000 "First Contact" system has gone GOLD!

A-EON Technology and Hyperion Entertainment are pleased to announce that the AmigaOS 4.1 Update 5 CD, exclusively created for the AmigaONE X1000 "First Contact" system has gone gold. The professionally re-mastered CD will be supplied in a printed boxed set along with copies of the AmigaONE X1000 and AmigaOS 4.1 "Quick Start" guides. Steven Solie, Hyperion Entertainment's AmigaOS Development Team Lead said, "The team worked hard to reach this important milestone in the development of the Amiga Operating System. With AmigaOS 4.1 Update 5 completed for the AmigaONE X1000 we can concentrate on versions for all the other supported hardware platforms as we continue to push towards the future release of AmigaOS 4.2." Trevor Dickinson added, "I would like to thank the AmigaOS developers and the whole AmigaONE X1000 betatest team who have worked so tirelessly behinds the scenes to make this a reality. I would also like to give special thanks to a few key members of the team who went above and beyond the "call of duty" to ensure the success of this project. You know who you are." The AmigaOS 4.1 Update 5 boxed set will be supplied to all AmigaONE X1000 "First Contact" customers who will also receive a free update to AmigaOS 4.2 when it is commercially released by Hyperion Entertainment.

AmigaONE X1000 "First Contact" systems now shipping

Letto meglio questa e' una versione specifica per X1000 Primo contatto
Adesso che la versione Update 5 specifica per x1000 e' pronta ci metteremo subito all'opera per rilasciare la versione update 5 per tutti gli altri sistemi
Questo e' il SUCCO del discorso quindi a breve dovrebbe essere rilasciato Update 5

Parrebbe proprio così, ma secondo me è solo una versione per X1000.
A meno che non ne abbiano piazzati centinaia di migliaia, non vedo perchè non fare versioni SAM.
Magari è questione di tempo.
Sono curiosissimo di vedere il più evoluto AmigaOS della storia sul più potente Amiga di sempre.

Tranquilli, prima o poi tocca anche alle SAM... l'importante è quest'aria che promette bene a tempi sempre più ridotti!

Bene perché ora possono lavorare su Gallium e SMP, magari ci stavano già lavorando ma almeno ora possono concentrarsi meglio su questi due aspetti

Speriamo in bene anche per chi vorrà il 4.2 con una 460 nuova, e qualche sconto per chi ha una 440, che più di tanto non potrà offrire con alcune caratteristiche del 4.2
Un'OS4.2 a prezzi un pò più contenuti per le 440 mi sembra ragionevole, magari max 90/100€

Ma come in Italia non ne hanno venduta nemmeno una...
e pensare che siamo i secondi in classifica per macchine
Amiga in generale dopo la Germania.

err...se su quella chart selezioni Amiga 500 (il piu venduto di tutti i tempi)dice che ce ne sono solo 60 in italia e 550 in tutto il mondo (hint:solo tra Germania e UK ne hanno venduti piu di 2 milioni e sono dei 500 la maggiorparte degli oltre 600.000 Amiga venduti in italia).

La ragione è che l'utente deve "voler" contribuire alla lista e segnarsi, quindi se un utente X non ha nessun interesse, non figura.

Dicono che il sistema x1000 è disponibile per la vendita, ma andando sul sito di amikit non trovo niente
