4096 Live, also known as 4klive, is a software synthesizer interface for live performances. 4096 Live has been built on top of a tiny but fast Syna synthesizer engine. The engine has the following features:

* 1000 patterns, maximum of 100 steps per pattern
* 10 tracks
* 4 waveforms: square, saw, sin, and noise
* ADSR envelope

4096 Live interface has the following features:
* two operating modes: live and pad
* in the pad mode, song tempo and pitch can be be controlled in real-time

* performances can be recorded as raw 16-bit stereo sample files

* songs are text files - songs are created with a text editor
* short response time to the artist's commands
