AROS One 2.3, nuova versione della Distribuzione AROS x86 ABIv0, in questa release ci sono tante novità, aggiornamenti Core e Software terze parti, in elenco è possibile vedere in dettaglio tutto l'aggiornamento

Questa è sicuramente la versione più Stabile mai uscita di AROS x86, tanti fix riguardano Wanderer e la compatibilità Hardware, è stato anche riformulato il catalogo delle compatibilità hardware, QUI è possibile consultarlo.

Per l'installazione è consigliata un'installazione pulita (ex-novo), questo perchè è cambiato il Core, configurazioni e posizione di alcune cartelle, eventualmente per chi avesse delle proprie configurazioni potrebbe farsi un backup e se compatibili installarli successivamente.

Per le prossime release ci saranno enormi cambiamenti del Core che sarà basato sull'ultimo codice sorgente ABIv11, quindi la stessa libreria C delle build ABIv11.

Inoltre sarà sviluppato un emulatore che consentirà di eseguire programmi AROS a 32 bit sotto AROS a 64 bit.

Migliorato il Descrittore Datatypes per i Font, ora con AROS One su Wanderer ma anche su Dopus4 e possibile visualizzare tutti i Font del sistema, sia i font TrueType che i Font Bitmap con un semplice clic.

Le icone naturalmente non sono reali, ma quelle preimpostate dal sistema, le famose Def_Icon assegnate automaticamente ai file che non hanno una icona.

Con il Workbench 3x e 4x e Ambient MOS, su un sistema di default, non è posibile visualizzare i caratteri cliccandoci sopra

In ogni caso i miei descrittori volendo si potrebbero utilizzare anche su questi sistemi, a patto che abbiano un visualizzatore di Font. !

IconClone e IconDrop 2 nuovi strumenti creati da miker per gestire qualsiasi tipoligia di icone, ottimi tool per AROS x86, ma che saranno distribuiti anche per AROS 64 e AROS 68k

IconClone è uno strumento per scambiare immagini fra varie tipologie di Icone, a differenza dei Tools esistenti su Amiga, IconClone può scambiare immagini "senza modificare il Tooltypes" tra Icone OS3 Classiche, Glow, DualPNG ma anche OS4 e MOS

Per Scambiare le Immagini basta trascinare le immagini sulle rispettivi riquadri posti sulla GUI, il programma consente anche di tornare indietro e reimpostare le vecchia Immagine


IconDrop invece serve per creare Icone DualPNG, anche qui basta trascinare le due immagini, che saranno unite savate come Icona.

Naturalmente le due immagini dovranno essere della stessa misura e aspetto diverso per generare l'animazione dopo il click !

Per chi usa VMware si sarà accorto che sul GRUB la tastiera non funziona (su VirtualBox si), quindi non era possibile scegliere e avviare altre voci presenti nel Menu.

Oggi facendo un po' di prove sono riuscito ad abilitare su VMware la tastiera su GRUB, si tratta di una operazione semplice, una volta caricato il GRUB basta appoggiare il Mouse in modo da rendere la finestra attiva, e premere uno dei tasti "Win" sia sinistro che destro, fatto questo si attiverà la tastiera.

Ora come su VirtualBox si potranno usare sia i Tasti freccia per gli spostamenti, il tasto "e" per modificare o impartire altri comandi, o i tasti CTRL+x per inoltrare i comandi digiutati :)

Con questo confermo la presenza sul GRUB di AROS One una voce che consente di avviare direttamente "Early Startup Control" per la gestione avii Volumi, eseguire applicazioni come Dopus4 etc..

Grande fermento nel mondo AROS, sto facendo da beta tester su alcuni aggiornamenti e nuovi software per AROS x86, tra questi ci sono sono LoView, ProTrekkr e Control Sonos (ora anche su AROS x86)

LoView 2024 del bravo Simone Monsignori, funziona perfettamente, è di fatto il Viewer di sistema di AROS One x86/68k, nonostante AROS One abbia numerosi Viewer.

Ho scelto LoView per il suo supporto datatypes che consente di visualizzare tutti i formati grafici più comuni e non solo, inoltre consente lo SlideShow cliccando su una singola immagine, oltre a poter inserire effetti e una base musicale.

LoView sarà disponibile prossimamente per tutte le piattaforme Amigose !
